The Dorchester Hotel Announces New General Manager |
|
Dorchester Collection Names Roland Fasel General Manager of The Dorchester |
The Dorchester Collection announces the appointment of Roland Fasel as General Manager of The Dorchester. In his new role Fasel will be responsible for managing the 250 room hotel, and overseeing a team of approximately 600 employees. He will also take on the role of UK Regional Director for the Dorchester Collection, which currently owns the The Dorchester in London, Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice in Paris and the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan.
Fasel, age 46, joins The Dorchester from the InterContinental London Park Lane where he has been General Manager for the past four years. During his 23 year career he has worked at some of the most prestigious properties in the world including Badrutt's Palace Hotel in St. Moritz when it was part of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and spent five years with the Shangri-La Group.
Christopher Cowdray, Chief Executive of Dorchester Collection says: 'The Dorchester is undoubtedly one of the world's finest and most famous hotels and I'm delighted that Roland will be joining the Collection to run our flagship London property. He is an outstanding manager and brings with him a wealth of experience of running international luxury hotels. Over the past few years The Dorchester has become synonymous with luxury within the high-end travel market and I am sure that with Roland's leadership qualities and passionate commitment to the role the hotel will achieve even greater success'.
Fasel will take over for Christopher Cowdray in mid-September 2008.
