Arlington Hospitality Files for Chapter 11

  • Arlington Hospitality Arlington Hospitality Inc., a hotel development and management company that builds, operates and sells mid-market hotels, filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Aug. 31, CPN has learned.

    Arlington Hospitality is the nation's largest owner and franchisee of AmeriHost Inn hotels, which is a mid-market, limited service hotel brand, owned and presently franchised in 20 states by Cendant, with more than 100 properties. Arlington owns or manages 35 AmeriHost Inn hotels in nine states, for a total of 2,400 rooms.

    In September 2000, Cendant acquired the AmeriHost brand name and franchising rights from Arlington.
