The total active U.S. hotel development pipeline comprises 2,770 projects totaling 292,806 rooms, according to the April 2012 STR/McGraw Hill Construction Dodge Pipeline Report.

In year-over-year comparisons for the week, occupancy was up 5.1 percent to 63.2 percent, average daily rate increased 5.2 percent to US$107.18 and revenue per available room jumped 10.5 percent to US$67.70.

The U.S. hotel industry is expected to report strong performance results in summer 2012, according to STR’s summer forecast.
